ABSTRACT

The current period of disruptive social change is inextricably bound up with new means and modes of communication, information, and media streams. The Communication, Information Technologies & Media Sociology section of the American Sociological Association (CITAMS) locates these factors at the center of our collective interests, investigating them through a plethora of methods, theories, and empirical cases. Each year, CITAMS runs a special issue in ICS showcasing select works presented at the previous year's American Sociological Association conference and the affiliated Media Sociology preconference. Papers in the 2022 CITAMS Special Issue reflect a social context defined by a prolonged global pandemic and wrought by democratic uncertainty. Across these social circumstances, technology and media loom large. Simultaneously, everyday life continues and classic CITAMS scholarship sustains relevance for the ways people interact, construct identity, consume, and mobilize. All of this and more are contained in the pages of this year's Special Issue, from which readers can get a sense of what CITAMS has to offer and consider how their own work may fit within the broad CITAMS umbrella. The necessity for virtual audits was to allow companies and regulators to continue to evaluate the compliance stature of manufacturers while respecting stay-at-home and social distancing requirements that prevented in-person site audits. Some of these venues are free, and some require a registration fee. supply chain quality Enhanced communication with suppliers to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain has also become a priority during the pandemic.

ABSTRACT

At the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, research on social media in the Malaysian context focused on its benefits and overlooked its drawbacks. To investigate this, we looked at an ageing society whose psychological health was severely affected during the pandemic. This study developed a model based on the Stressor-Strain-Outcome (SSO) framework that predicts factors that prompt passive social media use in Malaysia's ageing society during the COVID-19 pandemic. Convenient sampling was utilised to collect responses from 389 Malaysian older adults through an online survey. The direct effects of stressors, including information overload, communication overload, complexity, privacy, and fear of missing out on the strain of social media fatigue, and indirect effects on the outcome of passive social media use were investigated. For the assessment of the study model, partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was applied. Out of 11 hypotheses, four direct and three indirect hypotheses were accepted. The study findings did not support the direct and indirect effects of privacy and fear of missing out on social media fatigue and passive social media use, respectively. Findings reveal complexity as the more significant factor influencing social media fatigue, and indirectly, contributing towards the passive use of social media. This study contributes to understanding how social media interaction affects an ageing society during the pandemic lockdown. Despite widespread interest in this field, research on ageing populations concerning social media effects and pandemics is still in its early stages in Malaysia. The study's conclusion offers a thorough examination of its limitations and provides valuable recommendations for future research endeavours. © SEARCH Journal 2023.

ABSTRACT

Assessing e-learning readiness is crucial for educational institutions to identify areas in their e-learning systems needing improvement and to develop strategies to enhance students' readiness. This paper presents an effective approach for assessing e-learning readiness by combining the ADKAR model and machine learning-based feature importance identification methods. The motivation behind using machine learning approaches lies in their ability to capture nonlinearity in data and flexibility as data-driven models. This study surveyed faculty members and students in the Economics faculty at Tlemcen University, Algeria, to gather data based on the ADKAR model's five dimensions: awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement. Correlation analysis revealed a significant relationship between all dimensions. Specifically, the pairwise correlation coefficients between readiness and awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement are 0.5233, 0.5983, 0.6374, 0.6645, and 0.3693, respectively. Two machine learning algorithms, random forest (RF) and decision tree (DT), were used to identify the most important ADKAR factors influencing e-learning readiness. In the results, ability and knowledge were consistently identified as the most significant factors, with scores of ability (0.565, 0.514) and knowledge (0.170, 0.251) using RF and DT algorithms, respectively. Additionally, SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) values were used to explore further the impact of each variable on the final prediction, highlighting ability as the most influential factor. These findings suggest that universities should focus on enhancing students' abilities and providing them with the necessary knowledge to increase their readiness for e-learning. This study provides valuable insights into the factors influencing university students' e-learning readiness.

ABSTRACT

Affective computing (AC) has been regarded as a relevant approach to identifying online learners' mental states and predicting their learning performance. Previous research mainly used one single-source data set, typically learners' facial expression, to compute learners' affection. However, a single facial expression may represent different affections in various head poses. This study proposed a dual-source data approach to solve the problem. Facial expression and head pose are two typical data sources that can be captured from online learning videos. The current study collected a dual-source data set of facial expressions and head poses from an online learning class in a middle school. A deep learning neural network using AlexNet with an attention mechanism was developed to verify the syncretic effect on affective computing of the proposed dual-source fusion strategy. The results show that the dual-source fusion approach significantly outperforms the single-source approach based on the AC recognition accuracy between the two approaches (dual-source approach using Attention-AlexNet model 80.96%;single-source approach, facial expression 76.65% and head pose 64.34%). This study contributes to the theoretical construction of the dual-source data fusion approach, and the empirical validation of the effect of the Attention-AlexNet neural network approach on affective computing in online learning contexts.

Submission content Introduction: Intensive care medicine has become an admired, loved, hated, and definitely more interesting Specialty due to a special situation (COVID-19) that exposed the training process to numerous criticisms, positives, and negatives, and this is how I believe we could improve our beloved world. Proposal: 1. Ideal training program from medical school to Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT): * Medical school: In their last year they should do more than 1 week in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) * Stage 1: there should be a core surgical training of at least 6 months * Stage 2: there should be a rotation on Psychiatry of at least 4 weeks with on calls in ICU and 2 weeks in Palliative Care * Stage 3: acting as a consultant for the last six months on ST7 with backup from a formal consultant, and * Surgical training should be included in the possible dual or triple CCT 2. How would we be assessed? I agree with the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) staging program assessment, with some modifications: * As ST7 the trainee should act as a consultant with back support at least 50% of the stage and need to be evaluated by a Multi-Source Feedback (MSF). * Clinical Fellows should have a consultant as a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) guide who establishes the equivalent stage of training supporting them and assessing them under the same model. * Changing the way, the General Medical Council (GMC) conducts the CESR application and making it really equivalent to the ICM training with the FFICM curriculum. 3. What do we need to be taught? * Hot topics for ICU (academic), * Overseas talks to share experiences, * Ultrasound (FUSIC), * Wellbeing strategies, * Leadership training * Psychiatric and physiological effects post ICU for patients and staff, * The administrative and political model of the National Health Service (NHS), and * Communication skills to establish excellent relationships with the other specialties. 4. What would our working life look like? * Normal day: 8 am to 3 pm * Midday shift: 1 pm to 8:30 pm * Night shift: 8 pm to 8:30 am * A rolling rota of 12 weeks with 2 weekends during this time 5. How would you produce Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) Consultants of the future who both love their job and their life: * Starting with less intense shifts, * More cordial relationships between the teams, * Supporting ICM trainees and Fellows going through their CESR pathway, * Making the training more attractive to either male-female doctors getting them involved in as many different specialties as ICM can cover, Conclusion(s): Having full-time ICM Consultants should be welcome in all ICUs in the country, which is not at the moment. This will definitely attract a lot of excellent doctors who are 100% focused on ICM.

ABSTRACT

This research aims to grasp the evolution of consumer demand and improve the resilience of the hotel industry under the public health crisis (COVID-19). Online reviews of 7,679 hotels in 10 cities were collected from Ctrip, China's major online hotel platform. Then, we applied opinion mining and time evolution to mine the change in consumer demand before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings show that some consumer demands (e.g. epidemic safety) will change during the outbreak period. However, during the nonoutbreak period, users were more concerned about their own check-in experience (e.g. hotel facilities, front desk services). This article provides new ideas for identifying the dynamic value of online reviews. We suggest that businesses focus on ensuring hotel safety during the crisis period. The results contribute essential theoretical and practical significance to the hotel industry's crisis management during public health crises.

ABSTRACT

While social media has grown in popularity in today's society, and has facilitated the dissemination of accurate and valuable information, it also raises the equally pressing concern of rampant proliferation of rumors and false news. The recent global outbreak of COVID-19 witnessed the explosion of fake and misleading health rumors in social media. Governments are tasked with providing the public with the right information to influence their behavior and engagement in emergency decision-making and optimally address the risks of rumor influence. Therefore, it is important to choose an appropriate response strategy in a rumor-induced health crisis. This study has two main objectives: to identify effective rumor response strategies by the government to stem the spread of rumor during a health crisis, and to examine the role of anxiety in this process using the Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT). Online quasi-experimental data was collected from 245 Chinese participants who were exposed to a false social media rumor that potato chips could spread COVID-19 and were randomly assigned to one of three rumor response strategies (denial, refute or attack). According to the one-way ANOVA results, the effect of the refute response on rumor-related behavior is the most positive, whereas the effects of denial and attack are not significantly different. The results of the mediation model using PROCESS Macro reveal that anxiety partially mediates the relationship between rumor response strategies and rumor-related behaviors (rumor dissemination intentions and behavior intention to consume products);the refute strategy reduces public anxiety and has a positive effect on public behavioral intentions. This study is relevant to COVID-19 rumor research with regard to government rumor response strategies on social media using data-based descriptive and quantitative analysis. © SEARCH Journal 2023.

Teleconsultation is a type of medical practice similar to face-to-face consultations, and it allows a health professional to give a consultation remotely through information and communication technologies. In the context of the management of the coronavirus epidemic, the use of teleconsultation practices can facilitate healthcare access and limit the risk of avoidable propagation in medical cabinets. This paper presents the monitoring of international teleconsultation referrals in the era of Covid-19 to facilitate and prevent the suspension of access to care, the most common architecture for teleconsultation, communication technologies and protocols, vital body signals, video transmission, and the conduct of teleconsultation. Home visits have the power to ease the clinical trial process for patients, but complex study design, tight timelines, busy clinical operations teams, and overburdened sites can sometimes make home health feel like yet another moving piece to manage. Individual variables that play a large role in establishing timelines can include factors like: * Amount of protocol-specific training required. * Level of engagement during a visit. * On-site processing requirements. * Drug or sample stability. * Recruitment goals. [...]all training should be to the full satisfaction of the principal investigator overseeing the study. Since sites are still responsible for the conduct of home visits from a regulatory perspective, there is often a concern about how they can remain in control of the progress without overwhelming the already busy study team and staff.

ContextInduction of labour (IOL) is a very common medical intervention with current rates variable as 30-35% nationally. The rates are further increasing because of national drivers and maternity units in the UK are under immense pressure with capacity and staffing issues. Delays because of logistical challenges and understaffing have had a severe impact on patient and staff satisfaction. This area is not very well-studied, despite the severe impact the Covid-19 epidemic had on maternity services throughout the country. This QI project was bifold and aimed to explore the experiences of patients as well as staff during their IOL process at Lister Maternity Unit, understand their perspectives and seek improvement and solutions to the current process.Data was collected using paper and online questionnaires for patients and staff. An information leaflet outlining the purpose of the study was provided with the questionnaire. Surveys included both open questions (for example, was there a delay to your induction and if yes, was it explained to you well?) as well as scoring questions (0-10) regarding communication, facilities and overall experience.Surveys identified four main areas to improve: providing information about the process, planning of activity i.e., number of inductions per day, communication issues between clinical areas and managing patient expectations. Importantly, exploring both patient and staff perceptions helped to identify issues and possible solutions at the same time – for example, patients were often unhappy and worried about delays in their procedures and staff raised concerns about patients not being given enough information about the IOL process including the realistic time scale.Overall, analysis of collected information helped us to develop cost-effective solutions: RAG system to help prioritisation of inductions, incorporation of patient-friendly tools, videos and improvement in current IOL information leaflets, a clerking or checklist proforma as a referencing source of discussion and more support from ward matrons and daily morning obstetric consultant ward rounds to aid communication. Information leaflets and videos have been shared with local maternity service networks (LMNS) and maternity voices partnership (MVP) as service user groups. These solutions will be now implemented at Lister Hospital and their efficacy will be continually evaluated and shared within LMNS.

ABSTRACT

In spite of the sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many instructors who used team-based pedagogies shifted them online rather than suspending them entirely, but with limited time and resources. To examine the difference in team dynamics and outcomes for courses in Spring 2019 and Spring 2020 of over 1500 first-year engineering students per semester, Wilcoxon signed-rank tests and random forests method were used. Results show that students reported less improvement in team-member effectiveness, lower psychological safety, and less satisfaction in the semester with the emergency transition. However, students also reported lower conflict. The most important factor predicting project grades shifted from 'Interacting with teammates' to 'Having relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities' amid the emergency shift, accompanied by a reduction in team interdependence. In spite of the collection of data during an emergency transition, the foundation of face-to-face interaction before moving to virtual cooperation represents a useful contribution to research that has focused exclusively on virtual learning circumstances.

Background It is a challenge for pharmacy courses worldwide to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills to equip students for their future practice. Computer-based simulation offers a way of building a bridge between theory and practice. In recent years, digital simulation has expanded rapidly as a new technique of virtual learning. The digital platform ''Pharmacy Simulator'' proposes computer-based encounters with virtual patients to train clinical and communication skills in a community pharmacy setting. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, while students were digitally resilient and endured the endless challenges of online lectures, many were dealing with Zoom and screen fatigue. Purpose To investigate pharmacy students' acceptance of Pharmacy Simulator before and during a pandemic situation. This focuses on students' self-assessment and confidence in counselling after playing the scenarios on Pharmacy Simulator. Method Two cohorts of Master of Pharmacy students at The University of Western Australia played two scenarios on Pharmacy Simulator in 2019 (anaphylaxis and salbutamol) and 2021 (anaphylaxis and vaccination). A mixed-method analysis was performed with data from (i) qualitative semi-structured interviews carried out in 2019 pertaining to participants' acceptance of Pharmacy Simulator and in 2021 (ii) a questionnaire with 25 items derived from the interviews. The interviews were transcribed verbatim into electronic format with the data management assistance MAXQDA and analyzed inductively using the Framework Method. Questionnaire responses were analyzed in Microsoft Excel using descriptive statistics. Openended questions were evaluated inductively. Findings Data were collected from 20 interviews and 31 answered questionnaires. In 2019, participants reported that Pharmacy Simulator was a fun, engaging, and straightforward learning tool and, therefore, user-friendly. They reported the feedback at the end of the session to be most valuable. The platform was perceived to fill the gap between the theory from lectures and community pharmacy practice. In 2021, participants ''agreed'' (median: 4, on a 5-point Likert scale) with seven statements about Pharmacy Simulator's usability, such as it being a helpful tool for acquiring new knowledge. Participants' confidence in counselling regarding the scenario topics improved. One participant stated, ''It taught me more through trial and error''. Conclusion Pharmacy students reported similar acceptance levels of Pharmacy Simulator before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of simulation during virtual patient encounters seems to facilitate the transfer from theory to practice, independently of learning conditions that were predominantly screen-based.

COVID-19 triggered a monumental shift to remote work. The challenge of connecting and relating among knowledge employees emerged globally, and research about remote work in this unique circumstance surged. However, we know more about the impact of remote work on knowledge employees in low-context cultures than in high-context. Given that Brazil is high context, we explored how remote work impacted relating and connecting among knowledge employees in Brazil. First, employees lost the informality of work-life;instead of informal, fluid communication and collaboration, participants had to book appointments and schedule time to discuss simple issues. Second, good-humoured behaviours diminished, implicating connectedness. Third, non-verbal communication ceased, and employees lost facial expressions, eye contact, and other prevalent signs necessary for context. Fourth, the loss of unstructured exchange of experiences and ideas lessened tacit knowledge sharing. Fifth, workspace inequalities emerged as the employees' homes were unequipped for remote work. Lastly, the most significant win was work-life balance. Therefore, remote work in high-context cultures is not without peril;culture and socioeconomics underline remote work's self-generating, self-organizing mechanisms. Thus, corporate leaders and human resource professionals should address remote work as a layered phenomenon and, carefully, with employees, co-construct the notion of connecting and relating. ABSTRACT

The objective of this investigation is to understand how online distance education can contribute to promoting the development of digital skills, in particular, teaching digital skills. Contemporary society increasingly demands the use of digital technologies in the various areas of life, including in the teaching and learning process, even more evident in the pandemic context of COVID-19, which caused the suspension of face-to-face classes worldwide and imposed a new educational model, facilitated by digital technologies and based on online education methodologies, designated as emergency remote teaching. Among the many challenges, teachers had to adapt and reformulate their pedagogical practices and teaching methodologies in a virtual learning environment, often without having fundamental digital skills to promote quality learning. Through a narrative bibliographic review of an exploratory nature and qualitative methodology, studies, programs and models were identified that could be used as a reference to enable training propositions for the development of teaching digital skills, a key factor for pedagogical innovation.

The tremendous growth of tourism in Albania in recent decades, made important the understanding of the role that digital marketing and mobile technology is playing in this field. Tourism in Albania is one of the most important economic sectors of the country, and is growing year after year. It is emphasized that digitalization is a new form of communication between producers and consumers of tourism services, becoming a source of competitive advantages for tourism organizations. The main goal of the study is to give us a clear overview of the use of the Internet, information technologies and digital marketing in Albania. For the realization of this study, we used a methodology that combines primary data with secondary ones. The research was conducted through questionnaires that were sent to Albanian travel agencies via email. The questionnaire contains 17 questions, and was sent to 150 travel agencies, of which 102 agencies responded. Regarding the study, digital marketing plays an important role in improving the image of Albanian tourism throughout the world. It has created facilities in the way of doing marketing and reducing the costs of businesses. Through digital marketing, travel agencies have managed to promote our country online, personalize services and, above all, be closer to customers. The research found that the most effective digital marketing tools used by the agencies are Instagram and Facebook.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to determine the motivation of high school students to participate in physical activity and their eating attitude levels during the COVID-19 period as well as to examine the relationship between the two variables. In addition, it was also determined whether the motivation for participate in physical activity and eating attitudes differ according to gender, weekly exercise, spending time with technology, family communication times, and participation in exercise during and before the pandemic. A total of 576 high school students, including 406 girls and 170 boys, participated in the study. "Motivation Scale for Participation in Physical Activity (MSPPA)", "Eating Attitude Test (EAT-40)" and "Personal Information Form (KBF)" were used as data collection tools. Data were evaluated using correlation, multiple linear regression, MANOVA and t-test analysis techniques. It was concluded that the motivation of the students to participate in physical activity was moderate, and they did not have eating disorders. It was observed that physical activity motivation did not predict eating attitude, but there were positive and low relationships between sub-factors in relational dimension. According to gender, it was determined that the eating attitudes of female students were more positive than male students. It has been found that the motivation to participate in physical activity is higher for those who exercise before and during the pandemic than those who do not. Consequently, it can be said that during the COVID-19 process, high school students' motivation to participate in physical activity is at a moderate level, and their eating attitudes are generally not at the level of behavioral disorders.

In February of 2020, everything around the world changed. By mid-March, the majority of the world was locked down. Teachers were called on to create a sense of "normalcy” for their students. And we tried. During that process, though, as a teacher, I started to truly question what I was teaching and—more importantly—HOW I was teaching. This reflective essay offers a critical interrogation of my own pedagogical choices during and because of the COVID-19 pandemic . . . and so many other "moments” that have led up to it. I contend that we need to look in the mirror and ask ourselves, "Are we doing this right?” The following offers my starting point.

Amaç: COVID-19 sebebi ile ilan edilen pandemi süreciyle birlikte ülkemizde dil ve konuşma terapisi alanında tele-terapi hizmetinin kullanımında artış gözlenmiştir. Bu araştırma kapsamında vakaların bu süreç içerisinde aldıkları tele-terapi hizmetlerindeki memnuniyet düzeylerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, dil ve konuşma terapisi alanında tele-terapi hizmeti alan bireylerin, terapiye yönelik memnuniyet düzeylerinin aldıkları tele-terapi seansı sayısına ve bozukluk türlerine göre incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Yöntem: Bu çalışma 0-64 yaş aralıǧında, 42 katılımcıdan (24E, 18K) alınan veriler doǧrultusunda oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan "Dil ve Konuşma Bozukluklarında Tele-Terapi Danışan Memnuniyet Anketi" katılımcılara çevrimiçi platformlar aracılıǧı ile ulaştırılmıştır. Hazırlanan anket, 26 soru ve altı alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Elde edilen veriler, normal daǧılıma uygun olmadıǧı (Shapiro Wilk test;p <. 05) için verilerin istatistiksel analizi Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis testleri kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuçlar %95 güven aralıǧında, anlamlılık ise p < .05 düzeyinde deǧerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Analizler sonucunda bozukluk türü, alınan tele-terapi seansı sayısı deǧişkenlerine göre "Íletişim yeterliliǧi" alt boyutu dışında diǧer alt boyutlar ve toplam skorda anlamlı farklılık bulunmamıştır. "Íletişim yeterliliǧi" alt boyutunda akıcılık bozuklukları-konuşma sesi bozuklukları (Mann Whitney U test;p = ,044 < ,05) ile akıcılık bozuklukları-ses bozuklukları (Mann Whitney U test;p = ,019 < ,05) olan katılımcılar arasında istatistiksel anlamlılık ortaya çıkmıştır. Sonuç: Çalışmamıza katılan bireylerin bozukluk türü, terapistin yetkinliǧi ve alınan tele-terapi seansı sayısı deǧişkenlerine göre tele-terapi memnuniyetleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamaktadır. Yalnızca akıcılık bozuklukları -konuşma sesi bozuklukları ile ses bozuklukları olan katılımcıların "Íletişim yeterliliǧi" alt boyutunda anlamlı derecede daha yüksek puanlar verdikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen sonucun iki grup arasındaki katılımcı sayılarından kaynaklandıǧı düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında ülkemizde tele-terapinin memnuniyetine yönelik bilgilerin ilk verilerine ulaşılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın katılımcı sayısının arttırılarak tekrar edilebileceǧi düşünülmektedir.Alternate :Purpose: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the usage of tele-therapy services has been increased in Turkey. There also seems to be an increase in the use of tele-therapy in speech and language pathology services. Therefore, the satisfaction levels of the clients in tele-therapy appears to be an important subject to examine. The aim of this study was to investigate the satisfaction levels in individuals who receive tele-therapy services for speech and language therapy. The data has been examined based on tele-therapy sessions the participants received and, the type of disorder they had. Method: This study is based on data from 42 participants (24 men, 18 women). The "Tele-therapy Client Satisfaction Questionnaire in Speech and Language Disorders" was prepared by the researchers and delivered to the participants through online platforms. The questionnaire consists of 26 questions and six sub-dimensions. These sub-dimensions "Therapist's Competence", "Communication Adequacy", "Accessibility and Payments", "Equipment for Tele-therapy", "Generalized Tele-therapy Satisfaction", and " Questionnaire Total Point" were analyzed. Since the data did not show normal distribution (Shapiro Wilk test;p < .05), the statistical analysis was carried out u ing non-parametric Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests. The results were evaluated at a 95% confidence interval, and significance was evaluated at p < .05 level. Results: The results revealed no significant difference between the sub-dimensions and total score, except for the "Communication competence" sub-dimension, based on the variables of the type of disorder and the number of tele-therapy sessions received. In the "Communication Adequacy" sub-dimension, a statistical significance was found among the participants with fluency disorders-speech sound disorders (Mann Whitney U test;p = .044 < .05) and fluency disorders-voice disorders (Mann Whitney U test;p = .019 < .05). Conclusion: According to the variables in our study;type of disorder, the competence of the therapist, and the number of tele-therapy sessions received, there is no significant difference between the satisfaction of the tele-therapy in speech and language services. It was concluded that the participants with fluency disorders, speech sound disorders, and voice disorders gave significantly higher scores on "Communication Adequacy". It is thought that the result obtained is due to the number of participants between the two groups. Within the scope of this study, the first data on the satisfaction of tele-therapy in Turkey was reached. It is thought that this study can be repeated by increasing the number of participants. Future studies may also examine the satisfaction levels of participants with speech and language disorders separately.

ABSTRACT

The resilience of B2B sales forces is crucial in face of severe wide-ranging challenges during a crisis. This study aims to investigate the role of leader communication of the crisis in promoting salesperson resilience during the COVID-19. The data were gathered from 418 salespersons from 36 manufacturing firms in times of the COVID-19. The data were analyzed using multilevel structural equation modeling. The results demonstrated the positive relationship between leader crisis communication and salesperson resilience, mediated by salespersons' positive stress mindset. Family strain and core beliefs challenge were found to attenuate the positive linkage between leader crisis communication and salespersons' positive stress mindset. Theoretical and practical implications are presented. This study offers insights to help managers in B2B organizations better understand and implement mechanisms that can foster resilience among their B2B sales forces in the COVID-19 outbreak and other crises.
